Wearable Sensors for Waist Posture and Disease Detection
Sponsored by China National Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program
Waist diseases are important health problems in modern society. With the change of lifestyle, many young people are also facing the problem. Waist diseases can be prevented or reduced by proper posture. At the same time, after our survey, there are few waist disease detection devices on the market for the general public.
Therefore, our goal is to create a sensor that can be used to detect posture and pressure on the waist, and to find ways to use the measured data for diagnosis and analysis.
In details, we will use position sensors and stress sensors to detect the relative positions and forces on different bones in the waist to analyze the state of the waist. After the sensors have finished detecting the data, we will use technologies such as Bluetooth to complete the transmission of the data. In terms of analyzing the data, we will collect some samples as a training set and use methods such as data matching and machine learning to classify and analyze the collected data in order to give judgments and suggestions.
In general, the principle of our project is not complicated, so we are also confident to complete this project. However, as a wearable sensor, there are still many technical problems for us to solve. For a wearable sensor, its minimization and comfort are very important, which is a difficulty for the design of our product prototype. Also, the process of analyzing the collected data involves the learning of non-numerical features, and we need to study the algorithms of the specific data processing involved to obtain a high level of accuracy.
In the concrete implementation process, we will first make its prototype and try to perform preliminary data collection and analysis to determine its feasibility. After that, we plan to integrate the sensors and circuits and try to place them on a wearable belt. After that, we will collect some samples and design algorithms to analyze and diagnose the data. Finally, if we can complete this task, we plan to apply for a patent for out sensor and publish a paper on the analysis and use of the data.
